Mini Conversings Part II: Singing
Almost everytime Trent is climbing into bed, he feels the need to impress us, possibly so that we just can't stand to put him to bed and we'll let him stay up. Lately his attempts at impressing us are with song...and it works:
As he's crawling up his crib:
"A sun-beamp, a sun-beamp, Jesus wants a sun-beamp (head bobs on 'beamp')"
(All this is done with a face that says, 'See Mom. Can't you see how smart I am? Why would you ever want to put me to bed?)
.........
"Lead me, Guide Me, Walk be-side me, Help me find da way,"
Slight pause so mom starts to help out with, "Teach me all that i must do..."
Trent reaches out his palm to my mouth with a face of disappointment,
"No mom. Stop. Loud."
Hahaha. Guess I was singing too loud, and overpowering his own singing.

Found a Man Named Stewart
I found a man named Stewart.
It was actually a woman named Stewart.
Stewart signed for the package in lieu of her neighbor, the actual addressee the package was labeled for.
I went to see Stewart's neighbor who was just on the cusp of returning the package to the post office, because it was maldelivered, and who was about to send my precious Rainbows back to sunny Califor-nigh-ay. The same Califor-nigh-ay that just couldn't get themselves in gear to send them to me in the first place.
I thanked the neighbor of Stewart. So glad I caught her just in time.
I giddily ran to my door. Burst inside. Did a little squiggle and giggle of glee that my Rainbows were finally in my anxiety filled hands.
Opened the package. Correct color. Correct size. Good.
Pulled out my footsies, slipped them puppies on, and what? What is this? Hmmmm...
Well. Arch in left shoe is one inch more toward the toe of the shoe than the arch in right shoe. Are you SERIOUS?!?!?!?!?!
Hmmm. Whatever happened to a little something I liked to call "customer service". Whatever happened to, "This girl has been waiting six weeks for us to deliver her these sandals, and we are gonna darn well make sure they are spic and span and maybe put a little $10 bill in the toe for her hassle."
Nope. Customer service has flown the coop. Thrown in the towel. Said adiue and adiue.
Hahahaha. I have to laugh.
Called the man at Rainbow. The same man that makes a wish when he throws his penny into the wishing well that that darn girl from Utah will stop calling him already. That man.
"Hello. Got the shoes. So excited. And then..."
No apology. He had just returned from surfing so there was water in his ear and he couldn't really hear what I was telling him. About to go surfing again on his lunch break so didn't want to bother to shake the water out.
Sent a man the next day to pick up the shoes. Refused to send me the new pair until they had received my defective pair back.
Here I am waiting. Still waiting.
Trying to catch a break. Break deflected, again.

Wait for it
Remember the Blog Bomb? And then the "getting a new computer" explanation?
Wait for it. We're still coming back. Still coming back.

Mini Conversings
All within these 24 hours. And any given 24 hours provides equal the entertainment.
..........
I walk in to collect the kiddies from their afternoon nap.
"Hi Mama," Trent says.
"Hi Trent! Thank you for taking such a good nap."
"You're welcome Mama."
.........
Trent points outside the window next to his crib, "Scoopas Mama! Scoopas!"
"Yeah...Scoopas. Scoopas." "I don't know what Scoopas are Trent."
"Scoopas Mama!"
I look out the window. In the far distance I see a School Bus.
"Oooooh Trent! School Bus! Yeah! School Bus! Good job Bud!"
"Yeah! Scoopas Mom!...Yay! We did it!" (We did it signifying 'Yay mom! We understood each other! You really finally understood me Mama'')
.........
"Hev-lee Fodder, Bless fooood,
(Knowing that his short and usual prayer of "Heavenly Father, Bless food, Amen" was not going to cut it anymore and that he was going to be asked, again, to elongate his prayer, he continues...)
Trent's eyes start wandering the room. We know this because we weren't closing our eyes this time, like we usually can't during a prayer with two little babies around.
He looks at Daddy.
"Bless Daddy..."
And his eyes sweep to me, and then to Hadley
"...and Mommy...and Hadley..."
and then his eyes sweep the table and room,
"and plate...and tree (that would be the plant in the corner)... and cup... and fork... and milk... and chair... and hot dog..."
We started to wonder if he would ever stop. Eventually we prompeted him,
"in the name..."
And the rest was good as done.
.........
I brought Trent his water cup.
"Thank you SOOOO Much, Mama. Thank you SOOOO Much."
.........
Stay tuned for the continuing series of Mini Conversings brought to you by Trent.
