Easter Reflection

I couldn't help but compare our Easter from a year ago to this one.

Easter, a year ago...

At eight weeks old, Trent could not yet do his own Treasure hunting, so we helped him out. Looks like he was thoroughly enjoying it! (Or was it just us having all the fun?)

Swaddle him up! Take him outside! Trent, look what 'you' found!

Grandma and Grandpa Maw's Easter Egg Hunt last year:

Easter this year! What a difference! Baby boy walking, and bun in the oven.

Trent could pick up his own Easter treasures this year!

Watch out for those vicious four-year-olds at the park! Trent went home with one egg.
But he didn't care!

Third Trimester! Runaway train time!

We Found the Wall

It would not be fair to put you all through my complaining about the blasted boxes I needed to go through for the past nine months, and then not announce that the project is now complete!

We have unpacked the said boxes, and have now found the wall.

Hallelujah!

A few treasures found. And a few things that once were treasures, but now I don't know what they are?

A painting I bought in Venezuela. Thought it was cool then. Definitely top of the line in Venezuelan Art. But now that it's home, not so much my favorite. Raise your hand if you have a box of stuff from your mission you thought you would love when you got home and now you are proud to say that you actually have better taste than you thought.

Grandma Calder made me these kangaroos. And dad bought me a sentimental Pink Panther. Pink Panther's a big deal for me, my siblings, and my daddy.

A dress my mom made me.

Half of a very cool best friend ring. The other ring says "F_I_N_S". Wonder who has the other half? Seriously. I wonder...

My wine glasses from the formal high school dances. Hope someone who has recently visited the D.I. has found a use for them.

Flowers from my Grandma's graveside.

A pageant trophy. Trophy? What about a big, tall crown?!?

And this is the treasure. My Grandma Calder could rarely be found without her hands busy doing something. Most often if she was in the car or visiting, that busy something was knitting. She made these baby sweaters for every baby she knew.

When my Grandma passed away during my 11th year, I never thought I would have a sweater for my baby. Nine years after her death my Aunt Marie found this baby sweater when going through one of my Grandma's closets that hadn't been touched since her death. She found it appropriate that I should have it and mailed it to me.

My Grandma and I were very close, so this was and is very special to me. I put it in a box and continued on with college.

When going through the "blasted" boxes, I found the boxes were actually "bless-ed" and found my baby sweater.

Now it's for baby girl.

A treasure. And very special to find again.

Thanks for your help Trent!
