We just spent the most wonderful weekend on our Timothy Bret Andrus Family Reunion (Retreat, not a reunion really, huh Mer.). We spent almost an entire week without daddy working, without any photography, without any internet whatsoever, in "the Saint George House." And the kids loved it.
We loved it.
On the way to the car Trent and Tim were singing, "We're on vacation! We're on vacation!"
We watched way too many movies. (We LOVE How To Train Your Dragon P.S., and if you haven't seen the Babies documentary, very interesting. And AMAZING DisneyNature Oceans, if you want a feast for the eyes.) Watched lots of Football. Fed the ducks. Went to Pirate Island where they almost never came to seat us, and when they finally did never came to serve us, so we walked out. Headed to Pizza Factory, a tradition. Shopped. Went swimming. Tim golfed (with a 92-year-old and two 70-year-olds, one of them actually one of his Dad's clients. Woah.) Sat outside. Soaked in a little sun. Went on walks. And did whatever we wanted, with no schedule and answering to no one. We're out world! And we're loving it!

Oh Cougars. Que pasa?

Feeding the ducks was so fun, especially when a little turtle started poking his head out of the water and staring at us.

Hadley wasn't very interested in feeding the ducks though. She had to take care of feeding herself! (Have you seen this girl of ours eat? She eats more than an adult at almost every meal.)

"Don't give my bread to the ducks!!"

We LOVE love love how Hadley looks after we take her pony tails out at night. Hello Medusa!
Kids in swimming suits. Is there anything in life cuter? Okay, yeah, maybe a baby in a life jacket bigger than her body. Wish I had a pic of Hadley in that, cause it was hilair.
We had a fun weekend in beautiful weather and then woke up this morning to this - SNOW!! Of course we listened to Christmas music all day. Trent said, "Mom! This song is about Christmas!" I am SOOOOO excited for Christmas.
Do you know how much I love Christmas? I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Christmas. Christmas love runs DEEP in my veins. My parents had to make a rule in our household growing up that I could not turn on Christmas music until June. Yep. For serious. Every year I play a song in June just for reiminiscings sake. Now I save the real endless listening for a little later, and I save it usually for the first snowfall. I loved listening to Christmas music today! I can't wait for Christmas!
I've been waiting for it for six months now! Like crazy this year! After we listened to Christmas music all morning we turned right around and got the kids dressed up for Halloween at Toddler Gym. Hadley has two costumes of course, cause sometimes a mom just can't say no to a little red head that needs to be a pumpkin. Photos of the other costume soon to come.
4th of July has always been my second favorite holiday, but Halloween, which has always been maybe a least favorite, is starting to rival 4th of July for second place! Last year watching my little boy walk up to strangers' doorways, say a few words, then get offered candy, What? This is sweet!! Then seeing how we are all dressing up like crazy. What is this? What has happened to the world? Is there anything better than discovering the world with your baby? Today at Toddler Gym, Hadley kept talking about the "Doggy" in front of us (a boy dressed up like a dog.)

By the way, Hadley talks like crazy now. Like. Crazy. She can basically say everything and communicate what she wants. The one thing we still don't understand is, "Me me." She says this when she wants something. Well that makes sense: Me me! (Pay attention to me!) But she uses it for so many things we don't always know what she wants. On the way to St. George, Trent said to Hadley, "What does 'Me me' mean, Hadley?" We laughed so hard.
Yes Hadley! We want to know.
